Ingredients:
- 2 cups elbow macaroni
- 4 + 1 TBS butter or margarine
- 3 TBS flour
- 1 1/2 cups milk
- 1 cup (4 oz.) shredded cheddar cheese
- 2 oz. processed American cheese
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/4 tsp. pepper
- 2 TBS dry bread crumbs
Instructions:
- Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Grease 13" x 9" baking dish.
- Cook macaroni according to package directions; drain. Place in baking dish.
- In a saucepan, melt 4 TBS of butter over medium heat. Stir in flour until smooth. Gradually add milk. Bring to a boil. Cook and stir for 2 minutes; reduce heat. Add cheeses, salt, and pepper. Stir until cheese is melted.
- Pour cheese mixture over the macaroni and mix well.
- In a small bowl, melt the remaining butter and mix in the bread crumbs. Sprinkle over the macaroni and cheese.
- Bake uncovered for 30 minutes.
